Planned Parenthood St. Louis Region to Offer “Insemination Services,” Marketing Lesbians

This is just lovely:

According to Jill Stanek this campaign by the St. Louis Region Planned Parenthood seems to be the only PP campaign of this kind nation-wide. Well, that’s certainly something to be proud of, Missouri (/sarc). Jill also nails the irony of this campaign:

PP now specializes in aborting natural pregnancies and inseminating unnatural pregnancies – breaking up natural families and bonding unnatural families.

Pelosi Pulls Disclose Act…For Now

Good news: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has pulled the so-called DISCLOSE Act we’ve been telling you to call Congress about. From Politico:

Following a rebellion by two important factions of rank-and-file House Democrats, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has pulled a campaign-finance bill opposed by a broad coalition of special interest groups, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Pelosi and other Democratic leaders had scheduled a Friday vote on the DISCLOSE Act, a bill requiring special-interest groups to disclose their top donors if they choose to run TV ads or send out mass mailings in the final months of an election. The legislation is designed to roll back the controversial Supreme Court decision in the Citizens United case, which overturned restrictions on corporate campaign activities.

But after complaints from the conservative Blue Dogs and the Congressional Black Caucus, Pelosi was forced to pull the bill on Thursday night.

All is not clear yet. Some Democrat leadership aides say that a vote could be rescheduled for next week. We will keep you posted!

Note: MO Congressman Ike Skelton, District 4, is still a co-sponsor of this legislation.

Urgent: Call Congress To Oppose DISCLOSE Act!

National Right to Life Committee Issued the Following Urgent Alert

The U.S. House of Representatives may vote within days on the so-called “DISCLOSE Act,” legislation that would place sweeping new restrictions on the ability of incorporated groups, including NRLC and NRLC affiliates, to communicate with the public about the actions of federal lawmakers.

According to press reports, the House Democratic leadership has agreed to add a narrow “carve out” that will effectively exempt the National Rifle Association (NRA) from some of the key restrictions in the bill, in return for which the NRA has agreed that it “will not be involved in final consideration of the House bill.”

In a June 15 letter to House members, posted here (in PDF format, here), NRLC reiterated its strong opposition to the bill, which it called “pernicious, unprincipled, and unconstitutional legislation.” Regarding the proposed carve out, “With respect to the National Right to Life Committee, this amendment is not only worthless, but adds insult to injury,” the letter said, adding that NRLC’s congressional scorecard will describe a vote for the bill as a vote for “a blatant political attack on the First Amendment rights of NRLC, our state affiliates, and our members and donors.”

For more details on the danger posed by the “DISCLOSE Act,” see the alert published on page 1 of the June edition of National Right to Life News, posted here.

Press reports indicate that the House Democratic leadership now plans to force a House floor vote on the bill as early as Thursday, June 17. Please act immediately. Click here and enter your zip code into the “Call Now” box. Then telephone the office of the lawmaker who represents you in the House, using the number you will be shown. Use the suggested talking points to deliver the message that you are strongly opposed to this bill. (You don’t have to use all of the suggestions — the important thing is to get the main point across.) Ask how your representative intends to vote on the bill. Then, take a moment to employ the easy-to-use “Your Feedback” form to send NRLC a short e-mail message regarding what you learned.

Protect Your Freedom of Speech

Proposed Federal Legislation Threatens Freedom of Speech: NRLC and MRL urge opposition to “Disclose Act” (H.R. 5175)

The House of Representatives plans to take up the so-called “Disclose Act” ( H.R. 5175) when it returns next week. This legislation was crafted in response to the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v. FEC (2010). While this legislation purports to require the disclosure of important information to the public, according to National Right to Life, it will:

“. . . discourage, as much as possible, disfavored groups (such as NRLC) from communicating about officeholders, by exposing citizens who support such efforts to harassment and intimidation, and by smothering organizations in layer on layer of record keeping and reporting requirements, all backed by the threat of civil and criminal sanctions.”

Your Action Needed:

MO Congressman Ike Skelton, District 4, is a co-sponsor of this legislation. Calls to his Washington and District Offices are crucial. If you live in District 4, please call Cong. Skelton and urge him to remove his sponsorship and to oppose H.R. 5175.

For all other districts, call your congressman and urge him/her to oppose H.R. 5175.

Andrea Bocelli Tells a “Fairy Tale” About Abortion

It is worth contemplating here that, had his mother taken the advice of her doctor, not only would Bocelli himself not be alive today, but neither would his two children and the world would have been deprived of the great gift he has of bringing to life the beautiful music that God often uses to attract souls. Abortion: it takes away much more than it gives – if it gives anything at all.
