Missouri Right to Life Federal Political Action Committee Endorses Mitt Romney for President

The following statement can be attributed to Pam Fichter, MRL-PAC President:

Missouri Right to Life Federal Political Action Committee (MRL-PAC) announces its endorsement and support for former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, Republican candidate for United States President.  MRL-PAC is the most experienced and successful statewide pro-life organization that endorses political candidates on the state and federal level, having served Missourians from the mid 1970′s to today.

We join a growing number of leading pro-life advocates, including the National Right to Life Committee PAC, who believe Mr. Romney will be a strong advocate for Life in the role of Chief Executive.

Mitt Romney represents a profound contrast to the policies and practices of Barack Obama in regard to the sanctity of human life.  His commitment to lead pro-life Americans in our efforts to stop the abortion mandates in Obamacare is a solid reason to ask Missourians to support Mitt Romney for election in November.

Pro-life Missourians understand the urgency of electing a president who values human life.  Four more years of a President Obama cannot be an option for anyone who values life.  Mitt Romney wants to see the federal government defund Planned Parenthood.  Mitt Romney wants to see Roe V. Wade overturned.  Mitt Romney wants to see the prospect of rationed care and “death panels” disappear – never to return.

Missouri Right to Life Political Action Committee Announces Endorsements for November General Election

Missouri Right to Life today released their Political Action Committee’s endorsements for the November 2 General Election. These endorsements are based on the criteria established by the MRL PAC and are explained on the PAC website at www.missourilifepac.org.

“It has never been more important for voters to know where both Federal and State candidates stand on the life issues,” said President Pam Fichter. “We are in the midst of the most anti-life administration in our country’s history. This election represents a tremendous opportunity to return a pro-life majority to the U.S. Congress. We must also support those candidates for the Missouri legislature that will continue to work for the protection of innocent human life. We urge our members and all pro-life citizens to support candidates who have earned the endorsement of Missouri Right to Life’s Political Action Committee.”

Emily’s List Backs Carnahan for U.S. Senate

Emily’s List, which only supports pro-abortion candidates who back taxpayer-funded abortions and oppose a ban on partial-birth abortions has announced it’s top 5 candidates for the 2010 elections and Missouri’s Robin Carnahan is one of them. From LifeNews:

In Missouri, pro-abortion Secretary of State Robin Carnahan is hoping to pick up a pro-life Senate seat. She will face another big name in Missouri politics, pro-life Rep. Roy Blunt.

(Emily’s List president Ellen) Malcolm claims Blunt “has stretched the truth about health care to bolster his opposition to reform” by pointing out how the government-run health care bills foster abortion funding.

“This will be one of the highest profile races in the country, and winning won’t be easy – statewide Missouri races often are won or lost by only a handful of votes,” she says.

Abortion Rights Group EMILY’s List Backs Carnahan for U.S. Senate

From The Hill’s Blog Briefing Room:

EMILY’s List, the political action committee that backs and fundraises for women candidates who support abortion rights, wasted little time on Tuesday backing Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan (D) for Senate.

Carnahan, who is the daughter of a former Missouri governor and Senator, announced earlier Tuesday that she is seeking Kit Bond’s (R) seat in the Senate. Bond has announced he will not run for re-election.

Robin Carnahan is not only pro-abortion, but also favors human cloning research and has so far thwarted pro-life efforts to let Missourians vote on a state-wide ban on human cloning with her faulty and biased ballot summary ruling in 2007.

Carnahan’s mother, Jean, also a supporter of abortion rights, represented the state of Missouri in the United States Senate when she was elected in 2000 following the sudden death of her husband, former Gov. Mel Carnahan. She was defeated by the pro-life Jim Talent in 2002, who was subsequently defeated by pro-abortion Claire McCaskill in 2006.

During his 20 years as a U.S. Senator for the state of Missouri Sen. Kit Bond has been a steady advocate for life. He has a 100% voting record with National Right to Life and a 0% record with NARAL. Possible pro-life candidates for his replacement are former Sen. Talent, former State Treasurer Sarah Steelman and current U.S. House Rep. Roy Blunt, father of former Gov. Matt Blunt.

EMILY’S List Backs Baker

The group responsible for providing financial support for female pro-abortion candidates is putting its weight behind Judy Backer in the race to replace Kenny Hulshof in Congress.

Pro-Abortion Endorsements Announced

NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri has announced it’s picks for the 2008 election. Executive Director Pamela Sumners said:

“In a state like Missouri – where a woman’s right to control her own reproductive health is constantly under attack by anti-choice, anti-woman elements in the state government – one of the most important aspects in the fight for the right to choose is the election of champions of reproductive rights. NARAL is glad to be able to support these excellent candidates in their election and re-election campaigns.”

Audio of Abortion Debate!

I finally uploaded the audio I recorded from the abortion debate last week with Bob Onder and Ken Jacob, both running for Congress in the 9th district. It is a little over an hour long – click: Onder/Jacob Debate.

At the debate I had the privilege of meeting Tom Scheppers, pro-life candidate for State Representative in district 20. He is running to replace Danie Moore who is running against Bob Onder and 3 others to be the Republican nominee in the race to replace Kenny Hulshof as the 9th district Congressional Representative. Onder and Jacob will be hosting another debate on July 1 in Wentzville, MO.

Meanwhile, Dr. Onder has released the first television ad of all 9th district candidates, highlighting his past association with Missouri Right to Life and Missourians Against Human Cloning:

Others running for Congress in dist. 9: Republicans Dan Bashir, Brock Olivo and Blaine Luetkemeyer; Democrats Steve Gaw, Judy Baker and the pro-life Lyndon Bode
